Samson’s Final Prayer
Samson was a man chosen by God before he was even born. His life had purpose from the beginning. In Judges 13:5, the angel of the Lord said that Samson would begin to deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines. God placed strength upon him, not because Samson was perfect, but because God had a divine assignment for his life.
Samson’s strength was unusual. He could defeat enemies that looked stronger than him. He could do what ordinary men could not do. But behind that strength was a deeper truth: Samson’s power came from God. His strength was not simply in his body. It was a sign of God’s hand upon his life.
Yet Samson had weaknesses. He made wrong choices. He trusted the wrong people. He played too close to temptation. He allowed distractions to pull him away from the purpose God had given him. Slowly, what seemed harmless became dangerous. What looked like pleasure became a trap. What looked like love became betrayal.
Eventually, Samson lost his strength, his freedom, and his sight. The Philistines captured him, blinded him, and took him to prison. The man who had once been feared by his enemies was now mocked by them. He was placed in a painful, humiliating season where everything looked lost.
But even in prison, even without his natural sight, Samson remembered the Lord.
Judges 16:28 says, “Then Samson prayed to the Lord, ‘Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more.’”
This was not a long prayer, but it was an honest one. It was not polished, but it was powerful. Samson did not pretend to be strong. He did not hide his weakness. He cried out to God from the place of his brokenness and asked for strength one more time.
That prayer teaches us that God can still hear a person who feels weak. God can still remember a person who feels forgotten. God can still strengthen a person who feels like they have nothing left.
Maybe today you feel like Samson in some way. You may not be in a physical prison, but your heart may feel trapped. You may feel trapped by disappointment, regret, financial pressure, family burdens, sickness, rejection, shame, emotional exhaustion, or fear about the future.
Maybe you once felt strong, but now you feel tired. Maybe you once prayed with confidence, but now your prayers feel heavy. Maybe you once believed easily, but now you are trying to believe while carrying pain.
The good news is this: weakness is not the end of your story.
God is still able to strengthen you.
Today’s Encouragement
There are seasons in life when you feel tired in a way that sleep cannot fix. You wake up, but your heart still feels heavy. You smile in front of people, but deep inside you are fighting silent battles. You keep showing up, but you know you are running on very little strength.
Sometimes the hardest part is not that life is difficult. The hardest part is having to be strong when you feel broken inside.
You may be carrying responsibilities that no one sees. You may be trying to hold your family together, pay bills, heal from betrayal, overcome discouragement, rebuild your confidence, or keep trusting God when the situation has not changed yet.
You may be saying, “Lord, I do not know how much longer I can do this.”
If that is you, today’s devotion is for you.
God sees you.
He sees the tears you wiped away before anyone noticed. He sees the prayers you whispered when you had no more words. He sees how many times you encouraged others while needing encouragement yourself. He sees the courage it took for you to get up again.
Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
God is not far from you in your weakness. He is near. He does not despise your tears. He does not reject your honest cry. He does not turn away from you because you are tired. He draws close to those who need Him.
Samson’s prayer was simple: “Lord, remember me. Strengthen me just once more.”
Sometimes that is the prayer your heart needs to pray too.
“Lord, remember me in this season.” “Lord, strengthen me for today.” “Lord, give me courage to continue.” “Lord, help me stand again.” “Lord, restore what has been weakened in me.” “Lord, give me hope one more time.”
You do not have to impress God with perfect words. You only need to come to Him with a sincere heart.
There are moments when you may look back and wonder how life became so heavy. Maybe you used to feel strong, motivated, and full of hope. You had dreams. You had plans. You believed things would work out in a certain way.
But then life happened.
People disappointed you. Doors closed. Prayers seemed delayed. Mistakes brought consequences. Responsibilities increased. Your heart got tired. You started wondering whether you still had the strength to keep going.
Maybe you have been trying to rebuild after a painful season. You want to move forward, but some days the memories still hurt. You want to trust again, but your heart is cautious. You want to believe again, but fear keeps whispering that nothing will change.
Maybe you have been rejected so many times that you are afraid to try again. Maybe you have been carrying financial pressure, family concerns, emotional pain, or spiritual dryness. You may feel like people only see the outside, but God sees the battle inside.
And here is the hope: God is not finished with you.
Your current weakness does not cancel God’s purpose. Your mistakes do not have the final word. Your tiredness does not mean you are faithless. Your tears do not mean you have failed. Sometimes tears are simply the language of a heart that has carried too much for too long.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
That means God’s strength does not wait for you to become perfect. His strength meets you right where you are. When you are weak, His grace is still enough. When you are tired, His power can carry you. When you feel empty, His presence can fill you again.
You may feel like you are standing with little strength left, but God can breathe new life into you. He can restore your courage. He can renew your mind. He can heal your heart. He can help you take the next step.
Do not measure your future by how weak you feel today.
God still has strength for you.
When You Feel Like You Have Fallen
One of the most comforting parts of Samson’s story is that God still heard him after his failure. Samson’s pain was not only caused by enemies. Some of it was connected to his own choices. Yet when he turned back to God, the Lord heard his prayer.
This matters because many people feel unworthy to ask God for help after they have made mistakes. They think, “I should have known better. I should have listened. I should have prayed more. I should not have trusted that person. I should not have gone that direction.”
Regret can be heavy. Shame can make you feel like hiding from God. But God is not like people. People may define you by your lowest moment, but God sees beyond that moment. He sees your heart. He sees your repentance. He sees the purpose He placed inside you.
Proverbs 24:16 says, “For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.”
Falling is painful, but it is not final when God is involved. A fall can humble you, teach you, redirect you, and bring you back to the One who is your true source of strength.
If you have fallen, come back to God. If you have been distracted, return to Him. If you have been weak, ask Him for strength. If you have been ashamed, let His grace cover you.
God is able to restore what life has broken.
When You Feel Like You Cannot Continue
There are times when the prayer “Lord, strengthen me one more time” becomes deeply personal. It is the prayer of a person who has reached the end of themselves. It is the prayer of someone who knows they cannot do life in their own strength anymore.
And that is not a bad place to be.
When your own strength runs out, you discover that God’s strength never runs out. When your own plans fail, you discover that God still has a way. When your confidence is shaken, you discover that God is still your firm foundation.
Isaiah 40:29 says, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
This is God’s promise to you today. He gives strength to the weary. Not to the people who pretend they are fine. Not only to the people who have everything together. He gives strength to the weary.
So come to Him honestly.
Tell Him where it hurts. Tell Him what feels heavy. Tell Him what you are afraid of. Tell Him where you feel weak. Tell Him you need His help.
Prayer is not weakness. Prayer is where strength is renewed.
You may not receive all the answers at once, but God can give you strength for today. He can give you peace for today. He can give you wisdom for today. He can give you courage for today.
And sometimes, one day of strength is enough to keep you moving.
Today’s Word: Strength
Strength is not pretending you are never tired. Strength is not hiding your tears. Strength is not acting like nothing hurts. True strength is knowing where to run when your heart is weak.
Run to God.
When life becomes too heavy, run to God. When people misunderstand you, run to God. When temptation surrounds you, run to God. When you feel ashamed, run to God. When your hope feels small, run to God.
Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
God is not only your helper after the trouble ends. He is your help in the middle of trouble. He is your refuge when you feel exposed. He is your strength when you feel empty. He is your peace when your thoughts are restless.
Your strength does not come from having everything under control. Your strength comes from belonging to the One who is always in control.
Hope for Today
Beloved, you are not forgotten.
The same God who heard Samson’s final prayer can hear your prayer today. The same God who gave strength in a place of weakness can strengthen your heart right now. The same God who works through broken people can still work through your life.
You may feel weak, but God is strong. You may feel tired, but God is able. You may feel delayed, but God is still on time. You may feel broken, but God can restore. You may feel forgotten, but God remembers you.
Do not give up because of one painful chapter. Do not let shame silence your prayer. Do not let disappointment convince you that God has left you. Do not let weakness make you believe your purpose is over.
Lift your heart to God today and pray, “Lord, strengthen me one more time.”
He can strengthen your faith. He can strengthen your mind. He can strengthen your body. He can strengthen your emotions. He can strengthen your prayer life. He can strengthen your hope. He can strengthen your desire to keep going.
And by His grace, you will rise again.
Conclusion
Today, remember that your weakness is not proof that God has abandoned you. It may be the very place where His strength is about to be revealed. Samson’s story reminds us that even after failure, even after loss, even after pain, a sincere prayer can still reach heaven.
You do not have to be strong on your own. You do not have to carry everything by yourself. You can lean on the Lord and ask Him for fresh strength.
May your heart be encouraged today. May your hope be renewed. May your faith rise again. May you remember that God is still with you, still strengthening you, and still able to use your life for His glory.
Have a peaceful, strengthened, and blessed day.

May God strengthen your hands for the work ahead, your heart for the journey ahead, and your spirit for the battles ahead.
May God give you fresh hope today and help you rise again in His power.
**Prayer** Heavenly Father, Sovereign Lord, I come before You today with a humble heart. You know every place where I feel weak, tired, discouraged, and overwhelmed. You know the battles I have fought silently and the burdens I have carried for so long.
Lord, remember me. Strengthen me one more time.
Give me courage where fear has tried to take over. Give me peace where my heart has been troubled. Give me wisdom where I feel confused. Give me hope where disappointment has made me weary.
Father, restore what has been weakened in me. Renew my faith. Heal my heart. Help me rise from every place of pain, shame, regret, and discouragement.
Teach me to depend on Your strength and not my own. Remind me that Your grace is sufficient for me and that Your power is made perfect in my weakness.
Lord, help me continue walking in Your purpose. Do not let my pain destroy my faith. Do not let my mistakes define my future. Do not let my weakness make me give up.
Strengthen me today, Lord. Carry me, guide me, restore me, and use my life for Your glory.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
